Chapter 1 and 2 are kinda written already. So as a little teasing, may I present you THE Cas and Dean involved in that Summer AU fic:

“Sam! Sammy!” He calls and then he reaches the side with the view on the beach. He spots Sam at the back of the open veranda, playing cards with Jo and Ash. “Sam, Jo, Ash! Let’s get ready to go to the beach.” Dean suggests as his eyes finally scan the room. There’s Chuck, Amara and Gabriel there, so Dean smiles at them. Then his eyes end on the other guy sitting with them. “Hi.” He greets quietly. He doesn’t even know if he heard him because he doesn’t answer, he just smiles back and Dean thinks he never saw something as beautiful as this.
“Dean? You comin’?” Sam calls out. His little brother walked past him and he didn't even realize it until now.
“Huh - yeah!” He says, turning away and following his little brother.

God fucking dammit I need someone to tell me whether to keep my current chapter count for a fic or to impulsively add 5 more chapters
#moss’ terrible horrible no good very bad writing time#see if I was. normal. I would just add one or two chapters#but I have issues and if fics do not have chapter counts that are multiples of 3 or 5 it is BAD#but this fic started as a multiple by being organised as a multiple of 5 so it must stay that way#even though 15 is both so I TECHNCALLY could switch to 18 and it wouldn’t be bad#brain says I’d have to switch to 20 chapters#which is a LOT#but also this ending feels kinda rushed#helpppppppp

I'm a little hesitant to even post this, as I STRUGGLED with this chapter. After a zillion rounds of edits, I've decided I'm finally letting it go and moving on with my life because it's going to drive me batty otherwise.

watched some of the available scenes on youtube but honestly forgot how often people commented to ku.ro about how 'normal' mahi.ru was for an eve which, at the beginning is rather easy to relate to mahi.ru's simple outlook of life but also equivalates to how, before this, ku.ros life has always been alongside other supernatural beings.

#writing#the mechanisms#DIRECTORS COMMENTARY EDITION i have not been annoying enough yet#so this fic first came into being september 2020 (a writing rate of about 7 words per day if we ignore how i left it until july 2023) in#mostly the same format. 5 possible deats then DTTM. but! we didn't have a narrator in the same way - it was loosly jonny but he didnt play#the same role carmilla does. this was boring and very samey and i did not get past chapter 1#cut to mechtober 2022. i wrtie a thing abt time loops and jonny speaking to the narrator and the idea that the mechs have died For Good#before but told a story well enough to keep on going. this will be important later#late august 2023! the fic is taking shape and most things will stay the same in idea if not exact words EXCEPT carmilla does not call jonny#she watches him go in silence and just Hopes#now this is not satisying imo like youre saying she spent 5 chapters watching+narrating and now shes in the story she still does nothing?#so i changed it to what it is now Except. because pf the premise of this fic. i think she 'remembers' that early draft#like this version of her character is aware a prvious one did nothing and that partly influences her actions at the end#anyway. yeah. were gettign meta
